HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 66-1978RESOLUTION NO. 66-78 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ARTHUR A. RODONDI' FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO WHEREAS, Arthur A. Rodondi faithfully served the City of South San Francisco as a member of the Police Department for eleven years, as elected City Clerk for twenty-six years, and Acting City Manager from September 1968 to April 1969, thereby contributing to the progress and welfare of this community, and WHEREAS, he further extended his contribution to municipal government through the League of California Cities as Secretary-Treasurer of the Peninsula Division, Second Vice President, First Vice President and President of the Finance Depart- ment; as Chairman of the City Clerk's Institute during which tenure he assisted in authoring the City Clerk's Handbook; and as a member of the International I.nsti- tute of Municipal Clerks, which Institute awarded him the title of Certified Munic- ipal Clerk on June 27, 1977; Municipal Finance Officer's Association of the United States and Canada; the City Clerk's Association of California; and the Northern California City Clerk's Association, and WHEREAS, his community service participation includes the following: 1953' Chairman of the American National Red Cross funding drive; past Chairman, Munic- ipal Employees United Crusade fund-raising drive; Charter Member and past officer of the South San Francisco Rod 'and Gun Club; Charter Member and past Secretary of the South San Francisco BoyS? Club; member and past President of the Young Men's Institute, Council No. 32; member of the University of San Francisco Alumni Asso- ciation; and member of All Souls School fund-raising committee, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to commend him and by this Resolution per- manently record an expression of appreciation for his contribution to the welfare of this City and municipal government; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Council does hereby commend Arthur A. Rodondi for his contri- bution to the progress and welfare of this community and municipal government, and does by this Resolution permanently record in its official records this expression of appreciation for thirty-seven years of public service.
