A RESOLUTION ORDERING REMOVAL OF WEEDS FROM PARCELS OF 'PRIVATE' PROPERTY AND PUBLIC ,PLACES. WHEREAS, .the City Council of the City of South' San Francisco' did on the .6th. . day of . ~ep.tembe~ , ·1978 , adopt its.Resolu- tion No. .115-78 in which said City Council detemmined that weeds which will attain such a larg.e growth as .to become ~ fire menace when dmy or which are otherwise noxious, and dangerous, were growinE upon private property in said City~ and declared that said weeds must be removed from the public streets,.side-' walks and vacant and unimproved property in the City of South San Francisco as described by..!0~ and bl6ck number in Appendix . .. "A" to this Resolution, which is hereby referred to and made part of this Resolution by said reference as ~f set forth herein · verbatim; the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lots of land upon which such weeds exist, and, in said Resolution set Wednesday,'the 4th day of 0ct0be~ , 1978 · at the houm of 7:30 p.m., in the West OmanEe AvenUe Library (.in the ~oom known as the Auditorium)~.Sq0 West Orange AVenue, South . San Francisco~ CalifoPnia~ as the time and place when and where all persons havinE any objections to the pmoposed removal of said weeds may appeaP before said City Council and show cause why the womk of the pPoposed ~emoval of weeds should not be cauuied out~ and I:,"~EREAS~ said Resolution No. 115-78 was duly published twice in the' .En.~e.~prise-Journal, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of South San Francisco,. and NOtice to Destro~ Weeds ahd of Hearing Regarding Order .of Abatement' was (1) mailed ~.o · each person to whom such described property is assessed in last equalized assessment roll on the date said Resolution was adopted by the City Council, and (2) duly posted on the mespect_- ire parcels ~ and affidavits of publication, posting and.mailing thereof are on file in The office of the City Clemk,a.nd WHEREAS, the City Council at ~he time stated in. said Reso!.u- · ion No.. 115--78-~: and said Notice~ did hear and consider all' ob~ec- · . ~ions to the proposed removal of weeds, and thereafter concluded . , said hearing ~ '~' ' NOW~ THEREFORE~' BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of South 'San Francisco that: - 1. Any and all protest and ob~ectlons to the removal "of said weeds ape hemeby overruled;. . 2:. The Directom of Public Services, ex officio Supe. mintendent of Streets~ shall: . (a)' Abate the nuisance caused by said weeds by having same removed from all the parcels described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto~ and by ~his refePence incorporated hemein, except frOm those parcels from which said weeds · have been ~emoved prior to the undertaking of such ~e- moval pursuant to this Resolution, by the Director of · · · Public Services or' his authorized ~e'presentative or, eontrac tot ~ (b) Abate the nUisance by having the womk' performed by City forces and equipment or by contract awamded to the lowest ~esponsible bidde~ (c) Keep an account of the' cost and expense of abat- ing such nuisance f~om each of the described pamcels when the work i~ done by..him, 'his .~epresentative o~ contractor, and render an itemized report in wmitin~ .to The City Councii showing the cost and expense of mem.o~ing such weeds on and-in fbonT of each separate parcel, and Ten (10) days prior to submitting said report City Council, file'a copy of said' report with The City Clerk, posting a copy of. said report on The bulletin board in City Hall, and %he door of The Council meeting . ~oom, with notice to The owners of the respective parcels, by mail, of The time when said repoPt will be~,submitted to the City Council for confirmation. The notice of submission shall advise the owners of The parcels as to the Time and place when and where any persons inter- ested in the work of' removal or having objection thereto may be heard by the City Council.
