To Modify The Existing Specifications For The Positions Of: a) Personnel Clerk; as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. b) Assistant Electrical Technician; as set forth in Exhibit B attached hereto. II. To Add The Specifications For The Positions Of: a) Administrative Assistant to the City Attorney; as set forth in Exhibit C attached hereto. b) Senior Building Inspector;' as set forth in Exhibit D attached hereto. c) Building .Maintenance Supervisor; as set forth in Exhibit E ', attached hereto. d) Personnel Technician; as set forth in Exhibit F attached hereto. e) Purchasing Officer; as set forth in Exhibit G attached hereto. NO. 134-78 10/18-'7'78 SEPT~IBER 28, 1978 PERSONNEL CLERK DEFINITION Under general supervision, assists in the administration of the City Personmel Program by performing difficult and responsible clerical work;. to assume, a variety of administrative detail relating to established personnel policies and.procedures, and to do related work as required._ DISTINGHUISHING CHARACTERISTICS An incumbent assigned to.this class is distinguished from positions in0ther clerical classes by the greater degree of responsible clerical and recOrdkeeping duties assigned which require the exercise of ihdependent judgement. The work of an incumbent in this class involves the frequent application of established rules ~ Regulations, policies and procedures in a variety of circumstances, and constant contact with employees and ~he public as well as the performance'of record keeping, typing and related duties. Incumbents in this class are required to work some evenings and weekends to assist in administering examinations. An employee in this class may be assigned by the City Attorney to any paralegal function of the office requiring administrative follow-through. The range of duties may be any aspect of administra- tion ih the City Attorney's.office, such as interviewing the public and furnishing information regarding City procedures and practices; securing data from or furnish- ing it to other departments or outside organizations in matters of mutual concern; and preparing material for action by City Attorney.. .EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Under the direction of the City Attorney does research and collects background information and Supporting data, composing it in an organized manner for 16gal work by the City Attorney. Compiles data and collates legal formats for projects and special studies.
