CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION CONCURRING.WITH COUNTYWIDE
PLAN UNDER THE STATE LITTER CONTROL, RE-
CYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY ACT OF 1977
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted
the State Litter Control., Recycling and Resource Recovery Act, (Sec.68000
et seq. of. the Government Code) which provides funds to certain entities
f~'r litter cleanup, litter law enforcement, litter education, and purchase of
1 i tter receptacl es; and
WHEREAS, said Act allows the total funds allocated for expenditure
within each county to be distributed in accordance with a plan by the county
and the cities and approved by the County Board of Supervisors and by at
least fifty percent (50%)of the cities representing at least fifty percent
(50%) of the total popUlation residing within the cities in the county; and
WHEREAS, an expenditure plan in conformance with the Act has now been
completed through joint efforts of the County and the Regional Planning
Committee's Subcommittee on Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery;
and
WHEREAS, on December 6, 1978 , the plan has been submitted to this
Council for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that the Council:
1. Concurs in the filing of countywide applications fOr funding under
the Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery Fund as follows-
A. An application for litter cleanup and enforcement funds pursuant
le
to Government Code Sections 68043 and 68049.
B. An application for education and litter receptacle funds pur-
suant to Government Code Sections 68048 and 68050.
2. Certifies that it understands .the general provisions of the expendi-
ture plan.
! hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of December
1978, by the following vote'
