CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY THE ADDITION,
DELETION, AND MODIFICATION OF CERTAIN CLASSES
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the employee Classification Plan, as amended, is
further amended as follows'
1. To Add The Specifications For The 'Position Of:
a) Treatment Plant Equipment Operator/Serviceworker; as
set forth in Exhibit A.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 17th day

TREATSiENT PLANT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/SERVICEI~ORKER
DEFINITION:
·
Under general supervision to operate and maintain a variety-of construction
and power driven equipment including but not limited to backhoe, loader, dump
truck and crane, and perform related duties as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Skillfully operates,, maintains and services the various power driven equipment
used in the operation of sludge beds, sludge hauling and other treatment plant
operations. P~epares Sludge drying bed~, removes dried sludge, loads and hauls
dried sludge to disposal site. Digs pipe trenches and excavates to uncover leaks.
Backfills and grades. Operates crane to lift heavy objects. Services and maintains
assigned equipment. May assist in maintaining and repairing of Treatment Plant
mechanical equipment.
LICENSE:
Mhst possess an appropriate California Operator's License issued by the State
Department of Motor Vehicles.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of: The operation and capabilities of a variety of construction
and maintenance ~quipment;
Methods, practices, materials and equipment uses in construction
and maintenance projects;
Proper .servicing and repairs of assigned equiPMent}
Safe working practices.
Ability to:
and
Skillfully operate, maintain and service a variety of power driven
construction and'treatment plant mechanical equipm6nt~
Understind and carry out oral and written directions;

Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.

Experience:
Three (5) years experience in the operation and maintenance of a wide variety
of construction and power driven equipment.

Education:
Equivalent to completion of the 8th grade.
