CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE METROPOLITAN
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION REGIONAL HIGHWAY
PRIORITIES FOR INCLUSION IN THE 1979 STATE
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the 1979 fund estimates provided by the California Transportation
Commission included $90,000,000 of discretionary funds for highway projects
in northern California, and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission has met with represen-
tatives from the nine bay area counties and with CalTrans, in order to
formulate and select high priority prOjects urgently needed in the region,
and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission adopted the Highway
Element of the Regional Transportation Improvement Program on March 28,
1979, which included the six federal aid primary projects and the three
federal aid interstate projects programmed with discretionary monies, and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission submitted and adopted
Regional Transportation Improvement Program to the California Transportation
Commission on April 1, 1979, and
WHEREAS, cities and counties of the region are unified in support of the
Regional Transportation Improvement Program including:

(5) EIR and Design. (Highest priority likely for 1980 project funding.)
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco urges the California Transportation Commission to include
these projects in the 1979 State Transportation Improvement Program.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 16th day of May
