RESOLUTION NO. 73-79
CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING UNIT DETERMINATIONS
AND MODIFICATIONS AS MADE BY THE CITY
MANAGER PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 647.
that-
BT IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
WHEREAS, the Municipal Employee Relations Officer, by notice entitled
"Notice of Unit Determination/Modification for Consultation with Employee Organ-
izations and Transmittal to the City Council in Accordance with Ordinance No. 647"
dated May 7, 1979, notified Unit I - Wage Committee, Unit 2.- Wage Committee,
Units 3 and 4 - ASFCME Local 1569, MEBA (IUOE Local 39), Unit 5 - South San
Francisco Police Association, Unit 6 - Fire IAFF Local 1507, unit 7, Wage Commit-
tee, and Unit 8 - Wage Committee of the Municipal Employee Relations Officer's
determination of employee units by unit and job classification title, including
modifications affecting those classifications which had been placed in an inappro-
priate unit, and did attach thereto the unit designations and composition of said
units, and did further set his conference to discuss definitions of units and to
consult with employee organizations the period of time commencing with receipt of
said notice, to and including May 18, 1979, and did further advise the named organ-
izations that the Municipal Employee Relations Officer would transmit his findings,
recommendations and units determined to the City Council for Council's appropriate
action on June 6th, 1979, a copy of which notiCe is on 'file in the offices of the
City Manager and the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice, the respective employee organizations
representing City employees, conferred with the Municipal Employee Relations Officer
and/or his representative to discuss definitions of units; and
WHEREAS, the appropriate notice period has now passed and the Municipal
Employee Relations Officer has transmitted his findings, recommendations and the
units determined by his office to the City Council, which have been duly considered
by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT:
1. The City Council does hereby approve the units determined by the
Municipal Employee Relations Officer, which are attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
and incorporated herein by this reference as is set forth verbatim, same being
those set forth in the Staff Report dated June 6, 1979, to the Honorable City
Council, subject: Unit Determination, a copy of which is on file in the offices
of the City Manager and the City Clerk.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 20th day of June

June 3, 1980- Special Election
Resolution No. 26-80, adopted 3/19/80 - A Resolution ordering and calling
a Special Municipal Election to be held on June 3, 1980, for the purpose
of submitting to the voters an advisory measure regarding Magnolia Center
building and requesting consolidation with the general primary election
to be held on the same date.
Advisory Measure
Shall the City of South San Francisco expend approximately $40,000 to
prepare preliminary structural plans and cost estimates to convert the
Maqnolia Center Buildin~q into a center for performinq arts and senior
citizen actitives and submit a special tax proposal to voters at a
subsequent election to pay for such conversions.

October 6, 1981 - Special .Election
Resolution No. 77-81, adopted 7/7/81 - A Resolution calling for a Special
election on an initiative measure concerning the South Slope of San Bruno
Mountain, to be submitted to the voters of the City of South San Francisco.
Resolution No. 81-81, adopted 7/15/81 - A Resolution requesting the County
Clerk of San Mateo County to render specified election services.
Resolution No. 99-81, adopted 9/2/81 - A Resolution providing for the
holding of a Special Municipal Election in-the City of South San Francisco
on the sixth day of October, 1981, designating and consolidating precincts,
designating polling places, appointing precinct election officers and
other related matters.
Resolution No. 108-81, adopted 9/16/81 - A Resolution ordering an early
canvass to be made by the City Clerk for the Special Municipal Election
to be held in the City of South San Francisco on Tuesday, October 6, 1981.
Resolution No. 122-81, adopted 10/13/81 - A Resolution canvassing returns
and declaring the results of the special municipal election held in the
City of South San Francisco on October 6, 1981. Measure rejected.
Initiative Measure:
Shall the City of South San Francisco be prohibited, except in the event
of an emerqency declared by the City Mana.qer, from supplying any municipal
service to all or any portion of San Bruno Mountain unless the areas
commonly known as San Bruno Mountain South Slope and Juncus Ravine are
dedicated to parkland or open space for public use and enjoyment.
*Ordinance No. 881-81, adopted 12/2/81 - An Ordinance adding Chapter 2/16
entitled "Municipal Elections" to the South San Francisco Municipal Code,
repealing the prior Chapter 2.16 and Ordinance No. 635 entitled "An
Ordinance Establishing Two Elective Terms."
November 2, 1982 - Special Election
Resolution No. 70-82, adopted 7/7/82 - A Resolution ordering and calling a
special municipal election to be held on November 1, 1982, for the purpose
of submitting to the voters a City measure taxing the business of operating
a commercial parking facility and requesting a consoliation with the
general election to be held on the same date.
