Home My WebLink AboutReso 83-1979RESOLUTION NO. 83-79 RESOLUTION TO REMOVE WEEDS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DECLARING WEEDS UPON STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND VA- CANT AND UNIMPROVED PROPERTY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND FIXING THE TIME FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND ORDER ABATING SAID NUISANCE. - BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Fran- cisco as follows- Said City Council hereby determines that weeds which have attained such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or which are otherwise noxious or dangerous, and which are now growing upon public streets, sidewalks and vacant and unimproved property in the City of South San Francisco as set forth in Appendix A to this resolution des- cribing said properties by lot and block nUmbers and hereby referred to and made part of this resolution by said reference as if set forth verbatim, to be a public nuisance which must be abated by their re- moval. Otherwise said weeds will be removed and the nuisance abated by the City authorities, the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lots of land from which such weeds are removed, and such cost will' constitute a lien upon such land until the same is paid. Said City Council hereby fixes Wednesday , the ]5tb. day of Au§ust , 19 7i9 , at' the hour of_ 7~'30 P.M., W. 0ran§'e Avenue [ibrary AuditOrjum as the time and place when and where any and all persons having any objections may appear be- fore said City Council and show cause why the work of said proposed re- moval of weeds shall not be carried out in accordance with this resol- ution. · · The City Clerk is hereby directed~to cause this resolution to be.published two successive weeks in the "Enterprise-Journal", said publication to be completed ten days prior to said hearing; and to post a Notice to remove weeds and of the hearing on, adjacent to or near the property from which the weeds are to be removed, said Post- ing to be completed ten days prior to said hearing; and further to~' ~mail a copy of the Notice to the o~.~er of the lot from which weeds are to be removed.
