HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 89-1979 RESOLUTION NO. 89-79 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING THE APPLI- CATION FOR 1974 STATE GRANT MONEYS (APPIAN WAY' PARK PROJECT ) WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the State Beach, Park, Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivision for acquiring lands and for developing facilities for public outdoor recreation · and historical purposes; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the aPplicant to certify by resolution the approval of appli- cations prior to submission of said applications to the state; and WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must comply wi th; and WHEREAS, said procedures further require the applicant to possess an adopted plan showing parks and recreation lands and facilities, existing and proposed; and WHEREAS. the City's general plan was first adopted by the City Council on January 20, 1969, and WHEREAS, the proposed Appian Way Park project appears on the City's plan, is consistent with the California Outdoor ReCreation Resources Plan, and is in le conformity with the State Environmental Goals and Policy Report; and WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project;; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby: 1. Approve the filing of an application for 1974 state grant assistance; 2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in the applica- ti on; 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; 4. Certifies that said agency meets the planning requirements and that the project is compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immed- iately surrounding the project; and 5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotia- tions, execute and submit all documents including but not limited to applica- tions, agreements, amendmentS, payment requests and so on,which may be neces- sary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
