RESOLUTION NO. 2244
A RESOLUTION OF THE .PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPT THE PROPOSED
ALTERNATE ALIGNMENT FOR THE HICKEY BOULEVARD EXTENSION
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has previously ~pproved the original
alignment for the~Hickey Boulevard ExtensiOn; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on January 9,
1979, to consider an alternate alignment for the Hickey Boulevard Extension; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings;
1. That both the original and the alternate'Hickey Boulevard
Extensions are consistent with the Circulation Element of
the General .Plan.
2. That either alignment will facilitate the orderly growth,
planning and development of the City of South San Francisco.
3. That any adverse effects of either alignment may be miti-
gated by proper design and engineering.
4.That the alternate alignment would result in cost savings
and a better intersection with Mission Road.
5. That the right-of-way, to be inkeeping with the General Plan,
must be capable of affording a four-lane arterial street
connection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning.Commission of the City of
South San Francisco that it is recommended that the City Council adopt the alter-
nate Hickey Boulevard extension alignment (Exhibit "A"), which follows the re-
cently abandoned SPRR right-of-way, as the most preferable of the two plan lines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the alternate alignment
can not be obtained, that the original alignment is also acceptable and could 'be
utilized in lieu .of the alternate alignment.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution of policy was introduced
and adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of~ SOuth San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 9th day of January, 1979, by the following vote:
