HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 138-1979RESOLUTION NO. 138-79 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ALTERNATE HICKEY BOULEVARD EXTENSION ALIGNMENT AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION IN RESOLUTION NO. 2244 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of.the City of South San Francisco that the alternate Hickey Boulevard Extension alignment recommended and con- tained in Planning Commission Resolution No. 2244 adopted by said Commission on January 9, 1979, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby approved and adopted. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro- duced and adopted by the City' Council of the City of South San Francisco at a r~.g,lar meeting held on the 5th day of December 19 79, by the following vote: AYES: Co,nr.i]men Ronald G. Mirri; and Councilwoman Roberta Cerri Teglia NOES: Nnn,~ ABSENT: Nnn~ ATTEST: EXHIBIT ,,A,, TO RESOLUTION NO. 1.t~-79ADOPTED l?/~Tg RESOLUTION NO. 2244 A RESOLUTION OF THE .PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPT THE PROPOSED ALTERNATE ALIGNMENT FOR THE HICKEY BOULEVARD EXTENSION WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has previously ~pproved the original alignment for the~Hickey Boulevard ExtensiOn; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on January 9, 1979, to consider an alternate alignment for the Hickey Boulevard Extension; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings; 1. That both the original and the alternate'Hickey Boulevard Extensions are consistent with the Circulation Element of the General .Plan. 2. That either alignment will facilitate the orderly growth, planning and development of the City of South San Francisco. 3. That any adverse effects of either alignment may be miti- gated by proper design and engineering. 4.That the alternate alignment would result in cost savings and a better intersection with Mission Road. 5. That the right-of-way, to be inkeeping with the General Plan, must be capable of affording a four-lane arterial street connection. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning.Commission of the City of South San Francisco that it is recommended that the City Council adopt the alter- nate Hickey Boulevard extension alignment (Exhibit "A"), which follows the re- cently abandoned SPRR right-of-way, as the most preferable of the two plan lines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the alternate alignment can not be obtained, that the original alignment is also acceptable and could 'be utilized in lieu .of the alternate alignment.
