CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING EXTENSION
OF THE CITY/COUNTY HIGHWAY PROGRAM
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted the City/

County Highway Frogram'in 1965; and
.. WHEREAS, said program is phased in'five-year increments; and
.WHEREAS, the current phase will expire on June 30, 1980; and ."
WHEREAS, on February 13, 1979, said Board unanimously approved the'
establishment of a priority category within the City/County Highway Program to
improve streets utilized by SamTrans buses; and
WHEREAS, said priority category requires the extension of the City/

~ ' County Highway Program to July l, 1985, for its ~uCcessful implementation; and
WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Director of Public Works did on July' 24,
1979, recommend to said Board the extension of .said Program to July l, 1985; and
WHEREAS, said Board deferred decision on ~xtension of the Program; and
WHEREAS, the safety and convenience of the residents of San Mateo County
is improved by the Program;
WHEREAS, the cities and county have greatly benefited in the past from
improvements to the transportation system by this program:

liOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco hereby urges that the Board of Supervisors of the County
of San Mateo approve the extension of the City/County tlighway Program to July
l, 1985, with funding effective immediately.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 2nd day of January
19 80, by the following vote-
