A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING THE REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
TO DESIGNATE A SURVEY AREA IN THE GENERAL
AREA OF BETHLEHEM STEEL PLANT SITE
EASTERLY OF HIGHWAY 101
WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law of
The State of California (Sections 33,000 et. seq. of the
Health and Safety Code) provides authority for the
designation by resolution of survey areas (formerly
redevelopment areas); and
WHEREAS, Section 33,310 of the Health rand
Safety Code provides authority for the legislative body
to authorize the redevelopment agency to designate a
survey area; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the Redevelopment Agency
of the-City of South San Francisco is best equipped to
initiate a study of a survey area in the general area
of the Bethlehem Steel Plant easterly of Highway 101 for
purposes of determining whether a redevelopment project
within said area would be' feasible;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by 'the City of

South San Francisco as follows:
1. The Redevelopment Agency of the City of
South San Francisco is hereby authorized to designate by
resolution an area within the general area of the
Bethlehem Steel Plant easterly' of Highway 101 for study
~to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within
said area are feasible.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passing
to this resolution and ~thereupon and thereafter same shall

be in'full forae and effect.
