CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION'APPROVING AMENDMENT
0-2, 1979-80 OPERATING BUDGET.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Fran6isco that, after duly considering the staff report
dated May 7, 1980, subject 1979-80 Operating Budget, which is
attached hereto as Exhibit A, the Council does hereby order
that the sum of Four thousand five hundred dollars ($4,500)
be transferred from Account No. 12-4101-211.-43 to Account
No. 12-4507-243-48.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was reg-
ularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco at a r~O,lar meeting held on the
7th day of M~y , 19 00, by the following vote:

It is recommended that the City Council adopt a Resolution amending the
1979-80 Budget to transfer funds from the Police Department to the
Communications ·Department for the purchase of five portable radios.

DISCUSSION'
At its meeting of April 16, Council verbally authorized the purchase of five
portable police ractios through the County :ontract with Motorola.

It will be recalled that the County had a multi-year contract with Motorola
for the installation of a County-.wide U, H, F. police radio system. For
technical reasons, the County's contract was extended to .May 1, 1980. Staff
. recommended an immediate purchase of five radios at a unit cost of about
$900 rather than an open market purcha.se at a later date at an estimated
unit cost of about $1,800. Council agreed with this strategy.

This. Resolution transfers $4,500 from the Police Patrol personnel account
12-4101-211-43 to the Communications capital outlay account 12-4507-243-48.
