CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CHIEF H. DERK ZYLKER
WHEREAS, H. Derk Zylker contributed to the welfare of this City during
his service with the Fire Department for the past twenty-two years and nine
months, during which time he has served as a Firefighter, Captain, Assistant
Chief and Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, he has generated a deep respect for his individual talent and
dedication through his service as' Past President and Charter Member of the
International Association of Firefighters, Member of the San Mateo County
Fire Chiefs Association, Member of the National Fire Protection Association,
Member of the Northern California Fire Chiefs Association, Member of the
California Fire Chiefs Association and San Mateo County Mutual Aid Planning; and
WHEREAS, his community service participation includes membership in the
Rotary Club and various church activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council also desires to recognize his achievements
as having been an Alternate for the United States Soccer Team and a National
Intercollegiate Soccer Official and a member of the Viking Soccer Club; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to commend him therefor and by this
Resolution permanently record in the official records an expression of
appreciation for his contribution to the welfare of this City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Council does hereby commend H. Derk Zylker for his contri-
bution to the progr, ess and welfare of this community, and does, by this
resolution, permanently record in its official records this commendation and
expression of appreciation for his twenty-two years and nine months of dedicated

public service.
