EXHIBIT "A" TO RESOLUTION NO. 109-80
adopted 9/17/80
!
September 17, 1980
To: The Honorable City Counci 1
Subject: 1979-80 OPERATING BUDGET
ACTION: Resolution
Operating Budget Amendment 0-4, 1979-80
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution amending the 1979-80
Budget to reflect actual incurred costs.
DISCUSSION:
In the course of closing the City's books for 1979-80, four department budgets
indicated expenditures in excess of budgeted amounts. The reasons are:
a) The City's payroll system charges an overhead amount as
determined by the Finance Department and the City Council's
original Budget, inadvertently, did not reflect the appropriate
overhead budget amount.
b) Election supplies in the City Clerk's Department were in
excess of the original budget.
c) The Fire Department Overtime Budget anticipated the recruitment
of trained Paramedics and when this did not occur, overtime costs
exceeded the original estimate.
d) During the year, the Department of Community Development was
authorized two consultants for the Airport Noise problem and
for the special Census, which was not reflected in the .original.
budget.
Approval of this resolution will not provide any authorization for further
expenditures, but simply conform the 1979-80 budget to costs actually incurred
as a result of Council direction and for payments as authorized by Council.
