HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 138-1980RESOLUTION NO. 138-80 RESOLUTION CONCURRING IN COUNTY-WIDE EXPENDITURE PLAN UNDER THE STATE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT RESOLVED, bY the City Council of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, as follows- WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the Solid Waste Management Act, (Section 68000 et seq. of the Government Code) which provides funds to certain entities for litter cleanup, ~itter law enforcement, litter education, and purchase of litter receptacles; and WHEREAS, said Act allows the total funds allocated for expenditure within each county to be distributed in accordance with a plan by the County and the cities and approved by the County Board of Supervisors and by at least 5'0 percent (50%) of the cities representing at least 50 percent (50%) of the total population residing within the cities in the county; and WHEREAS, an expenditure plan for Fiscal Year 1980/81 in conformance with the Act has now been completed through joint efforts of the County and the Regional Planning Committee (RPC) Litter Control Advisory Committee; and · WHEREAS, on December 3, 1980, the plan has been submitted to this Council' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council: 1. Concurs in the filing of a county-wide application for funding under the Solid Waste Management Act of 1980; and 2. Certifies that it understands and approves the general provisions of the expenditure plan for the implementation of a county-wide Litter Control Program.
