CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE THE NECESSARY SUBMITTALS
AND TO NEGOTIATE WITH ALL INTERESTED PARTIES FOR THE PROPOSED
GRADE SEPARATION PROJECT ON EAST GRAND AVENUE AT THE RAILROAD
CROSSING OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted legislation
in the Public Utilities Code, and in the Streets and Highways Code, and
WHEREAS, these said statutory provisions provide that a fund for grade
separations be added to the budget of the Department of Transportation to be used for
the construction of grade separations, and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco is desirous of constructi'ng a
grade separated crossing for East Grand Avenue at the railroad crossing of the
Southern Pacific Transportation Company, and
WHEREAS, the construction of the said grade separation is an integral
part of the improvement program of this important major arterial.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of South San Francisco, acting
by and through the City Manager, be and is hereby authorized to make the necessary
submittals to the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Department
of Transportation and negotiate with all interested parties for the proposed grade
separation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the resolution be sent to the
California Public Utilities Commission and the California Department of Transportation.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular
meeting held on the 4th day of FebrUari¥ , 1981, by the following vote:
