CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE PORTION OF SOUTHWOOD CE.NTER
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco,
California, as follows'
1. This Resolution is adopted pursuant to the Street Vacation Act. of
1941 (Streets and Highways Code Section 8300, et seq.).
2. Notice is hereby given that Wednesday , the 6th ' day of
May , 1981, at 7'30 p.m., which time is not less than fifteen
(15) days from-the date of passage of this ~Resolution, in the West Orange ·
Avenue Library (in the room referred to as the Auditorium), 840 West Orange
Avenue, South San Francisco, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place
when and where alt persons interested in, or having objection~$ to?~he pro-
posed vacation of a Portion of Southwood Center.
as hereinafter described, may appear before said Council and be heard.
3. Not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing date, a copy of
this Resolution shall be published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a news-
paper of general circulation printed and published in said City in the man-
ner prescribed by law for publishing ordinances in said City.
4. Notices of the vacation, stating the passage of the Resolution of
Intention and the time and place of hearing shall be posted conspicuously
along the line of the street, or part thereof, proposed to be vacated at
least ten (10) days before the date set for the hearing and not less than
three (3) notices shall be posted.
5.. The public interest and convenience require, and it is the inten-
tion of this Council to vacate a portion of Southwood Center as shown on
the map entitled "Location Map, Vacation of a Portion of Southwood Center,
City of South San Francisco," attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is more
particularly described in Exhibit B attached hereto.
The public interest, convenience and necessity require the reser-
vation of an easement for construction, operation and maintenance of public
utilities which is more particularly described in Exhibit B attached hereto,
as shown on the map entitled, "Plat of Public Utility Easement to be Reserved
in the Abandonment of a Portion of Southwood Center, South San Francisco,
California," attached hereto as Exhibit C, and by this reference incorporated
herein as if set forth verbatim and the vacation proceedings are taken sub-
ject to such reservation and exception. The City Council does hereby re-
serve and except from such proceedings the easement for construction, oper-
ation and maintenance of public utilities so described in Exhibit B and
as shown in Exhibit C.
6. A copy of this Resolution shall be submitted to the Planning Com-
mission of the City of South San Francisco for a report and recommendation
in accordance with the Government Code of the State of California.

All that certain real property situated in the City of South San Francisco, County of
San Mateo, State of California, and more particularly described as follows:
A portion of "Southwood Center" as shown on the map entitled "R'e-Subdivision,
Southwood Commercial Tract, South San Francisco, Calif. ", recorded in the. San
Mateo County Recorder's Office on January Z, 1948 in Book 28 of Maps at p/~se Z9
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of ,Lot Z as shown on the above mentioned map,

a tangent at said point bearing North 7' 35* 34" West, thence northerly and westerly
87. Z4 feet along a curve to the left having a rs/tins of 435 feet and a central angle of
11' 29' ~6" to a point of reverse curvature, a tangent at said point bear/nE North
