CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA URBAN FORESTRY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the~legislature of the State of California has enacted the
Urban Forestry Program which provides funds to certain political subdivisions
of the State of California for urban forestry projects meeting the guidelines
set by the Board of Forestry; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Forestry has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program, setting up necessary
procedures governing applications by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of
Forestry require the applicant to certify, by resolution, approval of parti-
cipation in the program; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco has applied and received
approval for funding in the amount of $6,200 and has agreed to provide local
matching contributions in the amount of $6,100.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Accepts the grant funding under the State of California Urban
Forestry program; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions
of the agreement; and
3. Establishes a project entitled "Sign Hill Enhancement Project"
in the Capital Improvement Fund; and
4. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the project(s) funded under this program; and

5. Certifies that the project included in this application conforms
to the recreation element of the City General Plan; and
6. Appoints the Director of Parks and Recreation as agent of the
City of South San Francisco to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit
all documents including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments,
payment requests and so on which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.
