A RESOLUTION APPROVING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT GP -81-16 · PURSUANT TO
PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO.
2302 -ADOPTED THE 20TH DAY
OF AUGUS~T, 1981
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment (GP-81-16 ) to the City's General Plan
is set forth in Resolution No. 2302 of the Planning Commission entitled
"A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco
Recommending the City Council Approve the Attached Draft Housing Element, An
Amendment to the General Plan, GPA-81-16 and Approve Negative Declaration No.
335."
attached hereto as Exhibit A, and
WHEREAS, on the 20thday of August , 19 81 , by Resolution
No. ?302 the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco approved
and recommended same to the Council, as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto,
and
WHEREAS, the COuncil, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of
California, duly set a hearing thereon for the 2nd day of September ·
198] , notice of which was published in the "Enterprise-Journal," a newspaper
of general circulation printed and circulated in the City of South San Francisco,
amd which date of publication was more than ten (10) days prior to the date set
for said hearing, and the affidavit of said publication is on file in the
office of the City Clerk, and

WHEREAS, the Council did hold said hearing-on said date and did there-
upon consider said amendment and the statements and communications made at
said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT-
1. The Council hereby adopts as an amendment to the City's General
Plan the amendment recommended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No.
i.~ 2302 , designated GP-81-16 , as set forth in Exhibit A
attached hereto, thereby approving the Proposed Final Housing Element of
the General Plan'.
2. The said amendment be endorsed as adopted by this' Resolution and the
Mayor and City Clerk shall execute said endorsement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 2nd day of September , 1981
by the following vote:

NEGATIVE DECLARATION NO. 335
~, the Housing El~nent was prepared pursuant to Section 65302 (c) of
the California Governmental Code; and
WHEREAS, the Housing El~nent was revised frcm the '~>roposed Updated Housing
El~nent" reviewed by the Planning Ccmnission and forwarded to the' City Council by
Resolution No. 2254, dated 8 May 1979; and
WHEREAS, the Housing El~nent was drafted ~fter due consideration of the ccnments
of the State Department of Housing and ~ity Develotmnent on the "Proposed Updated
Housing Element"', and
WHEREAS, the Planning Ccmmission held a duly noticed public hearing on the
Housing El~nent on 20 August 1981; and
WHEREAS, the Plarm. ing Ccmnission has determined that the Housing Element includes
all of the major housing goals, policies, objectives, and impl~nentation programs
of the City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Ccrmnission made the following findings:
1. That the proposed amen~nent was consistent with the General Plan.
2. That the amendment would not be adverse to the health, safety,
welfare, peace, morals or general ccrafort of persons residing or
working in the ~ity.
3. That the proposed amendment was consistent with applicable 'State
~ Government Codes and G~eral Plan Guidelines.
4. That a Negative Declaration was prepared in accordance with the
California Environmental (~_~_~] ity Act of 1970, as amended.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Conm~ission of the City of
South San ~cisco that the attached Draft Housing Element (Exhibit "A") be forwarded
to the City Council with Negative Declaration 'No. 335 (Exhibit "B") for review and
approval.
