CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING .AND AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN SALARY ADJUSTMENTS, BENBFTIS AND
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR
EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES.

BE IT RESOLVED by the City COuncil of the City of South San Francisco,
WHEREAS on July 1S, 1981, the City Council authorized the remoVal of the
following classifications from employee representation units'
Assistant City Attorney
Assistant City Manager
-Assistant g0. City Manager
Chief of Police
Fire Chief
City Attorney
Director of Community Development
Director of Finance ......
Director of Parks and Recreation
Director of Public Services/City Engineer
· Personnel Director
WHEREAS, the City. Council has determined that for the pay period which in-
cludes July 1, 1981, through and including June 50, 1982, the following salary

adjustments, benefits and terms and conditions of employment shall be applicable
to the above listed Executive Management classifications-
·
1. All fringe benefits shall be maintained on the same terms and
conditions as provided to employees in Unit 1, exluding any
educationaI incentive programs. However, the annual compre-
hensive physical examination program shall continue.
2. Ail individua-ls in Executive Management classifications except the
Assistant City Manager shall receive a general wage increase of
eleven percent (11%) retroactive to the pay period which includes
July 1, 1981, and commencing on the date elected by each individual,
but starting no later than June 1, 1982. Exibit "A", as attached,
sets forth the salary ranges which reflect this increase under the
coltumn entitled Base Range.
3. The Assistant City Manager shall be paid at Base Range i701. The
classification o£ Assistant to City Manager shall be deleted from
th~ City classificatiOn plan.
4. The Director of Public Services/City Engineer shall receive an
additional adjustment of five percent (5%) Exhibit "A", as
attached, sets forth the salary range which reflec~ this increase
under the column entitled Base Range.
In lieu of the wage increase, Executive Management employees may elect
to have the City make the total employee contribution to P.E.R.S. and
apply the renaining percentage increase to base salary. This election
shall require City Manager approval. Executive Management employees
who so elect shall be compensated by the pay range under the col~n

£'×ecutive Management employees who elect to have the City make the
total employee contribution to P.E.R.S., shall'~be allowed to make
a one time irrevocable conversion of the City payment back to the
Base Range specified for their classification as listed in Exhibit
"A", as attached. This conversion must receive City Manager approval.

modifieJ by the City Council upon consideration of the recommendation of
the City Manager.
