HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 130-1981NOES' ABSENT: RESOLUTION NO. 130-81 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SENATE BILL 215 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 215 was recently signed into law by the Governor; and WHEREAS, the measure will become operative if Boards of Supervisors repre- senting two-thirds of the State's population, with the exeception of Los Angeles, pass supportive resolutions and submit them to the Governor by November 15, 1981; and WHEREAS, Senate Bill 215 will increase gas taxes by two cents per gallon and raise, transportation related fees, effective January 1, 1983; and WHEREAS, the additional tax will generate approximately $240 million annually, of which approximately $4.5 million will be returned to San Mateo County to be util- ized by both City and County governments; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it does express its support of Senate Bill 215 and requests the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to pass a supportive resolution and submit it to the Governor prior to November 15, 1981. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of October , 1981, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Ronald G. Acosta, Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia None None
