HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 19-1982 RESOLUTION NO. 19-82 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOHN'ROBERTPENNA~ WHEREAS, John Robert Penna, a native of South San Francisco, has served from September 1971, through January, 1982, as a member of the South San Francisco Parking Place Commission; and WHEREAS, he served as Chairman of said Commission from April, 1979, through January 1982; and WHEREAS, duriDg John Penna's tenure with said Commission numerous signi- ficant projects have been implemented, including: the purchase of Municipal Lot #9 in October 1980; the Walnut Avenue Parking Improvement in April, 1981; and improved enforcement of the two hour parking limit on Grand Avenue; and WHEREAS, throughout his service on said Commission, John Penna has been an active and productive member of the Commission, contributing his leadership and sound judgment to myriad issues of importance; and WHEREAS, he has thereby contributed greatly to the welfare of the downtown business district; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to express appreciation to John Penna for his services to this community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to John Robert Penna for his contribution to the City's progress and welfare through his service as a member of the Parking Place Commission by which he established a high standard of civic conduct worthy of emulation by those who desire to contribute to the welfare of this community. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regulary introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of Sout'h San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the~ 3rd day of~ February ~' by the following vote' AYES- NOES' -- ABSENT' · 1982, Counci lmembers Ronal~d G.
