HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 37-1982RESOLUTION NO. 37-82 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR RECYCLING GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1980 WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the State Solid Waste Management Act of 1980, which provides funds to certain entities for community recycling programs; and WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has the responsibility for the administration of the program setting up necessary procedures governing application for grant funds by local public and private entities; and WHEREAS, the procedures established by the State Solid Waste Management Board require all applications to include a certified minute order or resolution demonstrating local government sponsorship, identifying the project as a neces- sary component of the community's waste management system; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1. The City Council hereby approves the filing of an application by the City of South San Francisco for funding under the State Solid Waste Management Act. 2. The City Council hereby certifies that the Curbside Recycling project is a necessary component of the community's waste management system. 3. The City Council hereby agrees to make efforts to successfully imple- ment and sustain the recycling program and to consider any fiscal actions neces- sary to assure the program's continuation. · 4. The City Council authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation to act as the agent of the City to conduct all negotiations; the City Manager shall execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, grant agreements, and amendments which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned program. The City Council hereby authorizes the Director of Finance of the City to act as the agent of the City for the purpose of executing and submitting any payment requests.
