CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION SETTING FEES FOR BACKGROUND
INVESTIGATIONS AND OTHER POLICE SERVICES
RELATED TO APPLICATIONS FOR USE PERMITS TO
OPERATE AMUSEMENT ARCADES WITHIN THE CITY
OFSOUTH~SAN~FRANCISCO'

WHEREAS, Section 6.44.050 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code
requires the Police Department to conduct a Background Investigation on all
persons financially interested in Amusement Arcades proposed for operation in
the City of South San FranCisco; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Police Department is also required to attend
certain meetings related to applications for Use Permits pursuant to Chapter
6.44 and Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the approximate cost of the above services, rounded to the near-
est dollar is $23.00 per man-hour; and
WHEREAS, 3 police man-hours are required to conduct a Background Invest-
igation as required by Section 6.44.050 of the South San Francisco Municipal
Code; and
WHEREAS, 1.5 police man-hours are required to be devoted to other meet-
ings related to Use Permits to operate Amusement Arcades in this City;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
1. The reasonable cost of providing the background investigation herein
is $69.00.
2. The reasonable cost of providing other police services related to
processing Use Permits to operate Amsuement Arcades in this city is $34.50.
3. The non-refundable fees for background investigations and other police
services related to processing Use Permits to operate Amusement Arcades in this
City are hereby declared to be those fees set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein by 'reference as though set'forth verbatim.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, ,at a regular
meeting held on the 16thday of June ., 1982, by, the following vote'

FEE JUSTIFICATION
The basic investigation (review of application, interview
applicant(s), make necessary routine record checks, check
proposed business location, make appropriate security recom-
mendations, make appropriate personal contacts surrounding
the proposed business, etc.) is estimated to take 3 hours
total time (on the average).
An additional l-l/2 hrs. will be expended interacting at
various planning sessions (Design and Review Board meeting,
technical Advisory Group, etc.) and public meetings (City
Council, Planning Commission, etc.)
The cost per hour of, the investigator's time (including
incentives, benefits, and administrative support costs)
rounded to the nearest dollar is $23.00 per hour.
3 hrs. @ 23.00 per hour = $69.00
1-1/2 hrs. @ 23.00 per hour - $34.50
