CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ALBERT P. JONES
WHEREAS, Albert P. Jones, has dedicated twenty seven years and five
months to the Fire Department in the City of South San Francisco and effect~ve!y
contributed to that Department asa Fireman from February 18, 1955 to July 31,
1972; and as a Captain from August 1, 1972 to July 5, 1982; and
WHEREAS, he is a Charter member of the South San Francisco Police
Athletic League; and
WHEREAS, he served as a Manager of the Police Athletic League, "Captains"
Baseball team for a period of six years; and
WHEREAS, he served as the President of the South San Francisco Youth
Baseball Manager's Association; and
WHEREAS, he served as President, of the E1 Camino High School Booster
Club; and
WHEREAS, he has an honorary lifetime membership of the Alta Loma Jr.
High School Parents and Teachers Association; and
WHEREAS, he served as the President of the Local 1507, International
Association of Firefighters for a period of four years; and
WHEREAS, he was a participant in the California State Firemen's Olympics
winning both a silver and bronze medal, and he was a participant in the Third Annual
Police and Firemen's Tennis Tournament in Monterey winning a bronze medal in the
Senior Masters Division; and
WHEREAS, he is a Charter member of the Widows and Orphans Association of
the Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, he has helped protect this City over twenty seven years
of service; and
WHEREAS, his dedication to justice, fairness and high morals are
in the highest tradition of-the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to express appreciation to Albert
P. Jones for his contribution to the South San Francisco Fire Department and
the community in general;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to Albert P. Jones
for his dedicated services to the City of South San. Francisco and does order this
Resolution incorporated in the official records of the City as this Council's
expression and its wishes for his long and happy retirement.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 7th day of July , 1982, by the
following vote:
