HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 85-1982 RESOLUTION NO. 85-82 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MARIAN ABERNATHY FOR HER SERVICES TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO WHEREAS, faithful, devoted and .capable employees enable municipal governmental agencies to respond to the citizens needs in providing service; and WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation, has been truly fortunate to have the capable and devoted services of Marian Abernathy for twenty five years in a part-time capacity at Grand Avenue and West Orange Libraries from April 10, 1957 to June 18, 1982; and WHEREAS, she was a valuable asset to the libraries in the cataloging, ordering and technical processing of books; and WHEREAS, she contributed artistry to library posters through her freehand artwork; and WHEREAS, she was gracious and informative to the public when called upon to aid individuals in the selection and checking out of books; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to commend her services and by this resolution permanently record, an expression of appreciation for her contribution to the image projected of City services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Council does hereby commend MARIAN ABERNATHY for her contribution to the libraries of this City and the enlightenment of -1 - citizens of this community and does by this resolution permanently record this expression of appreciation. Approved by the Mayor Au.qust 4 , 1982. Mayor I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of August 1982, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: Councilmembers Ronald G.
