HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 136-1982RESOLUTION NO. 136-82 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF' SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT FOR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT #7 NON-SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES, JULY 1, 1982 - AUGUST 31, 1983 BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the settlement agreement for the Memorandum of Understanding with Unit #7, Non-Sworn Police Department Employees, for the period of July 1, 1982 - August 31, 1983, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference as if set forth verbatim, is herebY accepted and approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to endorse on the settlement agreement the following: "Approved by City Council Resolution No. 136-82 adopted 11/3/82 ." I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of November , 1982, by the following vote: AYES: NOES- Councilmembers Ronald G. AcoSta, ~.'lark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia I4one ABSENT: None CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND UNIT #7 NON-SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS REPRESENT THE AGREEMENT REACHED BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND UNIT #7 NON-SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES. THIS AGREEMENT HAS BEEN RATIFIED BY THE UNIT AND IS HEREBY PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL AND RATIFICATION. 1. Terms: July 1, 1982. to August 31, 1983 2. 1.02% Wage Increase r.etroactive to July 1, 1982 3. Assume 5% employee contribution to P.E.R.S. retroactive to. July 1, 1982. Coversion language to be-identical to Unit-#5 4. Increase vacasion accrual: First full 4 years from 3.08 hours bi-weekly to 3.70 hours and after 4th year from 4.62 hours to 5.54 hours bi-weekly. Annual equivalent from 10 days to 12 days and from 15 days to 18 days respectively. No other changes in vacation. 5. Family Leave- Attached language 6. Floating Holiday must be used by December 16, 1982. Section 11.3 of contract deleted. 7. Medical coverage for retiree, same conditions and language as Unit #5. (Section 11 a.) 8. Uniform reimbursement - delete window months. (Section 14 b.) otherwise continue same program. 9. Maintenance of existing Benefit Plans with City to continue 100% payment of premiums. 10. Language to be added to section 16 - Disciplinary Actions to reflect Personnel Rules definitions, intent etc. 11. Police Officer II wage settlement to be 'applicable to Police Technician, if possible. '12. All other items - current contract. The parties agree to meet following council adoption and prepare a Memorandum of Understanding i,n strict accordance with this Settlement Agreement.. ATTACHMENT REGARDING: FAMILY-ILLNESS LEAVE A) FAMILY ILLNESS LEAVE- An employee may use up to eight (8) hours per calendar year in order that he/she may care for a sick or injured member of his/her immediate family requiring his/her care, °r to obtain' medical- consultation/treatment to preserve the health of a sick or injured member of his/her immediate family, provided the immediate family member resides in'the employee's home. Immediate family member shall be as defined below. The requirement to reside in the employee's home shall not apply in cases involving the employee's mother, father or-child. Leave usage forms and notification pro- . cedures will continue to be used, provided the City reserves the right to take such action it deems necess~fyto confirm or v6rify use of this leave.
