CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,. STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND AUTHORIZING
A WAGE INCREASE FOR' UNIT'6 ( SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO FIREFIGHTERS)
WHEREAS, The City of South San Francisco and Unit 6 (South San Francisco
Firefighers) IAFF, 1507, AFL-CIO in accordance with their
obligations under law have met and conferred in good faith, ex-
changed proposals and counter-proposals, and freely exchanged'
information and opinions for a-reasonable period of time in an
effort to reach an agreement; and
WHEREAS, Despite the good faith efforts and endeavors of the parties no
agreements have been reached; and
WHEREAS, The City of South San.Francisco desires to maintain competitive
wages to assist in recruitment and retention efforts;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED .by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that a wage increase of 6% (six percent) effective July 1, 1982, is. hereby
adopted and approved for employees' in representation Unit 6 (South San Francisco
Fi refi ghters );
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that this Resolution shall not take effect until December 21, 1982, and shall
automatically be cancelled if Unit 6 (South San Francisco Firefighters) report to
the City Manager that as of December 20, 1982, an agreement has been reached and
ratified by the Unit and that a Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented
for Council adoption on January 5, 1983.
