CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MARGARET SMITH PIERSON
WHEREAS, Margaret Smith Pierson, has served as a member of the South San
Francisco Library Board during the periods of 1956 to 1957, and 1976 through
1982; and
WHEREAS, she has contributed to the welfare of this community through
numerous other activities including her membership in South San Francisco PTA
groups, South San Francisco Friends of the Library, and service as a Brownie
and Girl Scout Leader; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to express appreciation to her for said
services to the community, including her membership at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal
Church, Peninsula Hospital Volunteers, and various positions of responsibility
wi th the Art Ri se Theater group; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Council does hereby express a, ppreciation to Margaret Smith
Pierson for her contribution to the City's progress and welfare through her service
as a member of the South San Francisco Library Board and numerous other civic
activities through which she unselfishly gave time, interest and effort to advance
and better this community, and by which she established a high standard of civic
conduct worthy of following by those who desire to contribute to the welfare of
this community.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
