HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 47-1983RESOLUTION NO. 47-83 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO LAWRENCE W. COLEMAN WHEREAS, Lawrence W. Coleman has served as a member of the South San Francisco Personnel Board for more than ten years and seven months, being first appointed on August 7, 1972; and WHEREAS, in the years 1972, 1973, and 1975 he served as Vice-Chairman to the South San Francisco Personnel Board; and WHEREAS, during his years of service, in 1974, and in 1976 through March 16, 1983, he has served as Chairman to the South San Francisco Personnel Board, and was instrumental in effectuating major changes in public employment, which included, in 1981, formulating the City's first Affirmative Action plan; and WHEREAS, in 1980 he served on the sub-committee to the South San Francisco Personnel Board, and was instrumental in reviewing and revising the Personnel Rules and Regulations for the City; and WHEREAS, he has contributed to the welfare of this community through his activities and the City Council desires to express appreciation to him for said services; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Council does hereby express appreciation to Lawrence W. Coleman for his contribution to the City's progress and welfare through his service as a member of the South San Francisco Personnel Board, including -1- service as its Vice-Chairman and Chairman, through which he unselfishly gave his time, interest and effort to advance and better this community, and by which he established a high standard of civic conduct worthy of following by those who desire to contribute to the welfare of this community. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held on the 13th day of April , 19 83 by the following vote: AYES:' NOES- Councilmembers Ronald G. Acosta, Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teqlia None ABSENT' None City Clerk
