CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JOAN SERATTA
WHEREAS, Joan Seratta is retiring on May 29, 1983 after seventeen years
with the City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, 'she was first employed as a part time Library Clerk on May 5, 1966
and is currently the Library Technician in charge of the Historical Project located
in the lower level of the Grand Avenue Library; and
WHEREAS, she has been unflagging in the gathering of local history, which
includes the collecting of photographs, oral tapes and artifacts, as well as being
an outstanding speaker on the history of South San .Francisco; and
WHEREAS, her enthusiasm and devotion to the development of the Historical
Project has led her to become an active member of many organizations, to name a
few, the San Mateo County History Buffs, the Historical Society of South San
Francisco, the Geneological Society of San Mateo, .the Society for American Archivists
and the County and State Archeological. Society; and
WHEREAS, her dedication to her community has led her to become involved
with the American Cancer Society, Foster Parents Program and the Parent Teachers
Association, and she has served as the Director of Church Services as well as a
Sunday School Teacher; and
WHEREAS, her outstanding contribution and expertise to the Grand Avenue
Library has been immeasurable and it has enriched the lives of this community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to Joan Seratta for her
dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order this resolution
incorporated in the official records of the City as this Council's expression
and wishes for a long and happy retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeti~ng held on the 18th day of May , 1983, by the following vote'
AYES: Councilmembers Ronald G. Acosta, Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte,
Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia
