CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING PAUL A. TOGNETTI
WHEREAS, Paul A. Tognetti is r~ing on June 19, 1983 after over
twenty- five ( 25) years o f service for the City o f South San Franc~ co in
both the Police and Fire Depa~en~s; and
WHEREAS, he was first employed by the South San Francisco Police
Department as a Police Officer on February 15, 1958, and has been a cha~er
member of the Police Athletic League; and
WHEREAS, in 1966, he left the Police Department to join the South San
Francisco Fire Department as a firefighter and demonstrated o~tstanding leader-
ship ab~es which later resulted in his promotion to his present position
as Fire Captain; and
WHEREAS, he was a graduate of South San Francisco High School and
attended the College of San Mateo for numerous state and county fire science
class es; and
WHEREAS, fellow members of the Fire Depa~ent consider him to be con-
scientious, dedicated, and someone who can always be counted on in an emergency
situation; and
WHEREAS, he is a member of the American Legion Post, and was active in
the 8th Air Force Affairs in World War II; and
WHEREAS, his five children and eight grandch~dren occupy his free time,
however, his ret/~rement goals are to join a flying club and occasional travel
as well as continue to be concerned about this City's future and goals; and
WHEREAS, he has helped protect the City of South San Franc~co for more
than twenty-five (25) yea~ of service, and h~ dedication to justice, fatness
and high morals are in the highest tradition of the F~e Depa~ent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it does hereby express apprecia~on to Paul A. Togn~ti for
h~s dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order th~
Resolution incorpo~ed in the offic~ records of the C~y as this Council's
expression and its wishes for h~ long and happy ret~ement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regula~y introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco ~ a
