CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING COUNTY
CLERK OF SAN MATEO COUNTY TO
RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
as follows:
1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo shall be,
and is hereby, requested to permit the County Clerk of said County to render the
services hereinafter specified, relating to the conduct of the General Municipal
Election to be held within said City on Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 1983.
2. That the election services requested by said City in connection
with the holding and conducting of said election are more particularly set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though fully
set forth at length.
3. That said City, shall, and does hereby, accept and agree to comply
with the terms and conditions of the performance of said election services, and
the payments therefor, as set forth in Exhibit "A."
4. The County Clerk is further authorized and delegated to perform the
duties specified in Exhibit "A" for the purpose of the general municipal elec-
tion to be held within the City of South San Francisco on Tuesday, the 8th day
of November 1983.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
re.qular meeting held on the 3rd day of August
198..3, by the following vote-

SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR CITY
OF South San Francisco
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH NOVEMBER 1983 SCHOOL/UDEL/ELECTIONS
The County Clerk will perform all legal actions and services for the conduct of
the election except the following:
SPECIFIED ELECTION ACTIONS OR SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY CITY CLERK
1. Request the Board of Supervisors to allow the County Clerk to perform specified
election services in connection with the November School/Udel/Muni Elections.
Deadline to request services of County Clerk is 88 days prior to the election or
August 12, 1983. If a measure(s) is to be voted on, exact wording of measure(s)
must be filed by the 88th day prior to election.
Note: Cities who have changed their municipal election date to the November 1983
School Governing Board Election may have already had their municipal
election consolidated by Board of Supervisor action. However, if the
City is adding measure(s) to the ballot, the City would be required to
request through the County Clerk that the measure(s) be consolidated
with exact wording of measure(s) by the 88th day prior to election.
2. Legal Publications:
All legal publications are the responsibility of the City Clerk including but
not limited to: Notice of Election, Notice to File Arguments For or Against,
List of Nominees, Election Officers and Polling Places, etc.
3. Nomination Papers/Arguments:
City Clerk is to issue, file and check all Nomination/Argument Documents.
4. City Clerk is to certify List of Official Candidates (including number to be
elected, exact way each name is to appear on ballot and the ballot designation)
to the County Clerk at least 61 days prior to election. The deadline to file
this certification is September 8, 1983 .
5. City Clerk is to prepare and deliver to the County Clerk the ballot pamphlet
containing, if applicable, Ballot Measure(s), Analysis of Measure(s), Arguments
For or Against, Rebuttals thereto and Candidate's Statements (Statements of
Qualifications). Due date of this material at the Office of the County Clerk,
40 Tower Road, San Mateo is September 30, 1983 .
6. City Clerk is to advise County Clerk if any Write-In Candidate officially files
a Declaration of Candidacy. Notification is required as soon as possible, or
immediately after the 14th day prior to the election or October 26, 1983 .
TERMS AND CONSIDERATION
This schedule shall be in effect for the performance of all services incident
to the preparation and conduct of the City of South San Francisco Municipal
Election consolidated with the NOVEMBER SCHOOL/UDEL Election
to be held NOVEMBER 8, 1983 , except services listed as required by City
Clerk.
In the event the County is unable to perform services required under this
Agreement, as a result of employer/employee relation conditions, vendor condi-
tions or other conditions beyond the control of the County Clerk, the County
will be relieved of all obligations under this Agreement.

Consideration: In consideration of the performance of services and supplies
provided by the County Clerk, the City of South San Francisco shall
pay to the County Clerk a sum equal to the actual cost of such services,
supplies and overhead.
