CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET LIGHTING
CONVERSIONS FROM MERCURY VAPOR TO HIGH
PRESSURE SODIUM
WHEREAS, the California Utilities Commission has authorized funding
for a 1983 Energy Management Incentive Program; and
WHEREAS, Pacific Gas & Electric Company ("PG&E") has allocated budgeted
funds for Energy Management Incentives including the upgrading of customer
owned street and highway lighting; and
WHEREAS, conversion of street and/or highway lighting owned by the City
of South San Francisco ("City") to more efficient lighting qualifies for the
incentive program and will result in lower energy costs; and
WHEREAS, PG&E has offered to cOnvert a total of 377 street lamps owned
by the City from Mercury Vapor Lamps to High Pressure Sodium Vapor Lamps as
part of their regular relamping program at no cost to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
1. The relamping of 377 of the City's Mercury Vapor Lamps on Rate
Schedules LS-2B and LS-2C to High Pressure Sodium Vapor Lamps is authorized to
be accomplished by PG&E as part of their regular relamping program at no cost
to the City.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign any and all documents
necessary to accomplish said relamping and the City Clerk attest his signature
thereto.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 17th day of August , 1983, by the following
vote:
