CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JUDGE F. JOSE DE LARIOS
WHEREAS, F. JOSE DE LARIOS, Municipal Court Judge, attended Stanford
University and earned his degree totally through scholarships and working at a
number of jobs which included being a fireman; and
WHEREAS, he re-entered Stanford in 1946 and earned his Law Degree from
the Stanford School of Law in 1953; and
WHEREAS, he established a general law practice in South San Francisco
in 1953; and
WHEREAS, HE WAS APPOINTED BY Governor Edmund G. Brown as a Municipal
Court Judge on October 10, 1963 in San Mateo County's Northern Municipal Court;
and
WHEREAS, he has established a reputation as an honest, respected and
sometimes controversial judge by his perseverence in upholding the integrity of
the Courts; and
WHEREAS, he and his wife, Edna with their children Francisca, Boyd and
Joseph have been exceedingly active as a family in numerous civic and community
affairs, such as the United Crusade, Cancer Association, Boy Scouts of America;
and
WHEREAS, he has unstintingly devoted time and energy in instructing new
judges in court procedures through his twenty years on the bench; and
WHEREAS, he is known in some circles as Toastmaster par excellence
through his sparkling anecdotes; and
WHEREAS, on October 14, 1983 he retired after twenty years of dedicated
service in the Municipal Court;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the City Council does hereby commend and express appreciation
to Judge de Larios on his retirement and does order this Resolution incorporated
in the official records of the City as this Council's expression and its wishes
for a long and happy retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 19th day of October , 1983, by the
following vote:
