CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JAMES ALLI0
WHEREAS, James Allio is r~iring December 22, 1983 after twenty-eight
( 28) years o f faithful service with the Fire Department for the City o f South
San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, he was first employed by the City of South San Francisco as a
tailman on an engine company and .later worked for many years as an opera~or and
aerial driver; and
WHEREAS, James A~lio was promoted to Fire Captain as a First Line Super-
visor, and in that capacity served temporar~y in several positions such as
Paramedic Coordinator, Training Officer and occasionally as Acting Battalion
Chief; and
WHEREAS, having, many friends within the community over the years, he
became involved w~h All Souls . Church and specifically with their youth programs;
and
WHEREAS, Jam~ Allio coached Midget Baseball, a Fire Depa~ent Team, for
six years while serving as a member of the South San Francisco Youth Baseball
Manager's Association; and
WHEREAS, due to h~ conscientiousness he has worked with the younger
personnel sharing h~ enthusiastic att~ude and experiences with others; and
WHEREAS, Jam~s Allio and his lov~y wife Ann have eight children, two
g~ and six boys, the youngest boy s~ at~ending All Sou~ School, and
they a~o have a wonderful granddaughter; and
WHEREAS, Jim has been an avid golfer, hiker, and bike rider, and he hopes
to remain a~ive in his r~tirement by co~nuing to raise his family and pu~ue
these activd~es with his wife Ann; and
WHEREAS, James A~o has helped protect the City of Sou~h San Francisco
for twenty-eight (28) years of service, and his dedication to justice, fairness
and high mora~ are in the highest tradition of the Fire Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco tha~ it does hereby express appreciation to Jam~s Allio for his
dedicated services to the Cd~y of South San Francisco and does order this
Resolution incorporated in the official records of the City as this Council's
expression and it~ wishes for his long and happy r~x~ement.
I h~reb~ certify that the foregoing w~s regularly introdu~ced and adopted
by the City Counc~ of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned .regular
meeting held on the ]4th day of D~c~.mb~r , 19 B3 , by the following vote:
