CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
SALARY ADJUSTMENTS, BENEFITS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES
BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that:
WHEREAS, the following employee classifications comprise the Executive
Management classifications of the City of South San Francisco:
Assistant City Attorney
Assistant City Manager
City Attorney
City Librarian
Fire Chief
Director of Community Development
Director of Finance
Director of Parks and Recreation
Director of Public Services/City Engineer
Personnel Di rector
Police Chief
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that effective ,August 26, 1983, the
following salary adjustments, benefits and terms and conditions of employment
shall be applicable to the above listed Executive Management classifications:
1. All Fringe benefits shall be as currently provided.
2. All individuals in Executive Management classifications shall receive a
general wage increase of 6.0% retroactive to July 1, 1983. Exhibit "A"
as attached, sets forth the salary ranges which reflect this increase under
the column entitled "Base Range" and to the range entitled "Range with City
Payment of PERS."
3. Executive Management employees hired during the period covered by this reso-
lution may elect to have the City make the total employee contribution to
P.E.R.S. This election shall require City Manager approval. Executive
Management employees who elect to have the City pay the total employee
contribution to P.E.R.S. shall be compensated by the pay range under the
column entitled "Range with City payment of PERS" and listed in Exhibit "A"
as attached.
Executive Management employees who have previously elected to have the City
make the total employee contribution to P.E.R.S., shall be allowed to make a
one time irrevocable conversion of the City payment back to the Base Range
specified for their classification as listed in Exhibit "A" as attached.
This conversion must receive City Manager approval. An employee who so
converts shall not be allowed to again opt for City payment of the
employee's contribution to P.E.R.S.
- 4. The City Manager shall prepare and present to Council a recommended
Executive Management Compensation Policy which shall include a Performance
Evaluation and Pay Plan. The recommended Executive Management
Compensation Policy shall be presented to the City Council by the City
Manager by such time as will allow the Council to act upon the recommen-
dation by April 1, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is ordered that:
These salary adjustments, benefits and terms and conditions employment are
hereby approved by the City Council and shall remain in full force and effect
through and including June 30, 1984, and thereafter unless modified by the City
Council upon consideration of the recommendation of the City Manager.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution 'was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of. South San Francisco at an adjourned re.qular
meeting held on the 14th daY of December , 1983, by the following vote:
