CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TERMINATION OF
AN AGREEMENT ENTITLED "JOINT EXERCISE OF
POWERS AGREEMENT FOR AIRPORT COMPATABILITY"
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by its Resolution 95-80, authorize
execution of an agreement entitled "Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for Air-
port Compatibility," (hereinafter the "Agreement"), which Agreement was sub-
sequently entered into among, the cities of South San Francisco, Burlingame,
Millbrae and San Bruno; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8 of the Agreement, the City of Burlingame
has previously withdrawn its membership; and
WHEREAS, the purposes of the Agreement were as follows'
(1) To develop staff compatibility to closely monitor activities related
to San Francisco International Airport at the local, state and federal levels;
(2) To develop staff capability to effectively analyze the effect of
airport-related activities on the respective communities, to inform member cities
with respect to research conclusions, and to make recommendations for joint city
response to s)Jch activi ties;
(3) To provide a governmental mechanism whereby member city interests
and views can be objectively coordinated for development of a major "Airport
Community Voi ce;"
(4) To provide for futUre inclusion of additional public entities which
desire to become parties to the Agreement; and

WHEREAS, 'the cities remaini'ng in the Agreement now believe that the
above listed purposes can more effectively be met by other means; and
WHE~REAS, Section 12 of the Agreement states that said Agreement may be

terminated upon~'~e consent of all the parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
(1) The City Council does hereby give its consent on behalf of the City
of South San Francisco for the Agreement to be terminated.
(2) Upon receipt of the consent of the cities of Millbrae and San Bruno
to termination of the Agreement, the Treasurer of the City of South San Francisco
and the Director of Finance of the City of South San Francisco acting as Treasurer
and Controller respectively of the Airport Compatibility Authority are directed
to insure that all liabilities and claims against the Authority are settled
properly, that an accounting is made of all assets of the Authority, and that
said assets be distributed in accordance with the requirements of the Agreement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the llth day of January , 1984, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Richard A. Haffey,
Gus Nicolopulos; and'Roberta Cerri Teglia
