CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
PATRICK A. DUNLEAVY
WHEREAS, Patrick Dunleavy was first employed as a South San Francisco
Firefighter on October 1, 1957 and is retiring on June 2, 1~$4 after almost
twenty-seven (2?) years of service with the Fire Department~ and
WHEREAS, during this long term of service, he advanced to Firefighter/
Engineer and has been exceptionally professional in this position~ and
WHEREAS, he has displayed his sense of fairness, and many times placed
the interests of the citizens of South San Francisco above his own~ and
WHEREAS, Patrick has always extended a helping hand to those in need
and has coached the Fire Department's Basketball team~ and
WHEREAS, Patrick is an active member in Mater Dolorosa Parish, and is a
member of the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco and the Young
Men~s Institute of South San Francisco~ and
WHEREAS, Patrick is a devoted grandfather, sharing his life with his
lovely wife Catherine and their three children~ and
WHEREAS, Patrick Dunleavy~s quick Irish wit will be missed by all his
fellow employees, but will be shared by others when he fulfills his dream
of retirement by traveling~ and
WHEREAS, he has helped protect the City of South San Francisco for many
years, and his dedication to justice, fairness and high morals are in the
highest tradition of the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to express appreciation to Patrick A.
Ounleavy for his contribution to the South San Francisco Fire Department and
the City of South San Francisco in general;
NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to Patrick A. Dunleavy
for his dedicated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order
this Resolution incorporated in the official records of the City as this
Council's expression of appreciation and its wishes for his long and happy
retirement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 13th day of June , 1984, by
the following vote:
AYES: CoUncilmembers Mark N. Addiego, Emanuele N Damonte,' Richard A. Haffey,
Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia
