CITY COUNCILs CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO~ STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
ALFRED BANFIELD
WHEREAS, Alfred Banfield has served as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner
for more than seven years~ being first appointed in 1975~ and
WHEREAS, during his years with the City of South San Francisco he served
as Vice Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Liaison for the
Beautification Sub-Committee in 1~?$, and in lB?g he served as Chairman of the
Parks and Recreation Commission~ and
WHEREAS, during his chairmanship Alfred Banfield was instrumental in develop-
ing.projects such as the Sign Hill Master Plan, the Memorial for Orange Park and
the Orange Memorial Park Lighting~ and
WHEREAS~ he is the recipient of the California Parks and Recreation Society,
District IV Volunteer Award for his outstanding work and support of recreation
programs~ and
WHEREAS, Alfred Banfield was a frequent volunteer at Santafs Hotline, the
Easter Egg Hunt, the Annual Fun Run and the Recycling Center~ and
WHEREAS, Alfred Banfield has contributed to the welfare of this community
through his activities and the City Council desires to express appreciation to
him for said services~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the Council does hereby express appreciation to Alfred Banfield
for his contribution to the Cityfs progress and welfare through his service as
a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, through which he unselfishly gave his time,
interest and effort to advance and better this community~ and by which he
established a high standard of civic conduct worthy of emulation by those who
desire to contribute to the welfare of this community.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held on the 27th day of June , 1984, by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.'Addiego, Emanuele N. Damonte, Richard A.
Haffey, GuS Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Teglia
