HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 90-1984RESOLUTION NO. 90-84 A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY ADDING JOB SPECIFICATIONS FOR A CERTAIN CLASSIFICATION BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Employee Classification Plan, as amended, is further amended effective July 1, 1984 as follows: 1. To add Job Specifications for the position of: Recreation Program Coordinator (Unclassified) as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the 27th day of June , 1984, by the following vote' AYES' NOES. Haffey, Gus Nicolopulos; and Roberta Cerri Te.qlia None ABSENT' None b 1 ~y bl erk ~ Cit9 of South San Francisco July l, 1984 EXHIBIT "A" RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR (U) DEFINITION . - - Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, organizes, directs and implements leisure service programs; assigns duties to subordinate staff; supervises program staff and leaders in various program activities; performs related work as required. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Plans, organizes, publicizes, and implements program activities of the Recreation Division; schedules special interest classes; recruits, interviews, supervises and schedules leaders, instructors and volunteers; operates and staffs pre-school, day camps, playground programs and special events as assigned; assists with evaluations of staff and programs and makes recommendations; main- tains c6mmunications with school district staff and other community organizations; assists in development of training procedures for staff; keeps records and prepares financial, statistical and other reports; assists 'Recreation Supervisor and/or Department'Head in special administrative tasks upon request; may be required to act as Recreation Supervisor in their absence. L I CENS E Possession of an appropriate California Operator's License issued by the State Department. DES I RABLE _(~UAL I F I CAT IONS Knowledge 6f' Philosophy, methods and techniqUes utilized in organized recreation; planning major and minor special events and other recreational activities suitable for pre-schoolers, children, teens, adul~ts and seniors; community organizations and resources; effective techniques of supervision and evalu- ation; playground safety and first aid methods. Abi~li ty to: Plan, organize and implement a variety of leisure programs and activities; present clear and concise oral and written reports; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with the public, co-workers and other City departments and staff. Experience' One year experience in professional' recreation work involving leadership and instruction to groups and/or individuals in leisure activities. Education' Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Education, Public Administration or a related field.
