HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 103-1984 RESOLUTION NO. 103-84 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING FRANK J. BERTUCELLI WHEREAS, Frank J. Bertucelli a native South San Franciscan has played an important role in the development of this City; and WHEREAS, he served this City as a police officer from 1941 through 1945; and WHEREAS, as an enterprising young man he went into business for himself in 1945 as a wholesale meat distributor and continued this endeavor until 1953; and WHEREAS, never one to ignore new opportunities he bought the Standard Station at Airport Boulevard and Miller Avenue and operated that business from 1954 through 1970; and WHEREAS, he was appointed by the South San Francisco City Council as a Personhel Boardmember and acted in that capacity from 1958 through 1963; and WHEREAS, Frank was appointed to the City Council in 1963 to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Leo J. Ryan; and WHEREAS, he was elected by the people of South San Francisco as a Councilman for two consecutive terms on April 14, 1964 and April 9, 1968; and WHEREAS, the City Council evinced their trust and respect in Councilman Bertucelli by selecting him as Mayor in 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1969; and WHEREAS, Frank and his wife Jo and their daughter Dorothy Schurk, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren have been exceedingly active as a family in numerous civic and community affairs; and WHEREAS, he was appointed by the City Council on August 6, 1975 as a Planning Commissioner and has faithfully and dedicatedly served the City until his resignation on June 26, 1984; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council does hereby commend and express appreciation to Frank J. Bertucelli for his service to this City and does order this Resolution incorporated in the official records of the City Council's recogni- tion of his long and valued service to the people of this community; I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular fol 1 owl n§ vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: meeting held on the 25th day of July ,1984, by the Councilmembers Mark N.
