CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AND FIRST INTERSTATE BANK OF CALI-
FORNIA ' (.EXTENSION OF'LEASE)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that:
1. Approval of'Agreement.
The Agreement entitled, "First Amendment to Lease" between the City of
South San Francisco and First Interstate Bank of California is hereby approved, and
a copy of said Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
2. Execution of'Agreement.
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of
the City, and the City Clerk attest his signature thereto.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the25th day of' 'July , 1984, by the following vote:

FIRST AMENDMENT TO n~ASE
THIS FIRST ~MENEMENT TO LEASE, made, executed and delivered as of
this ?5th
day of July, 1984, by and bergen the CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO ("the CITY'') amd FIRST INTERSTATE BANK OF CALIFORNIA ("BANK"), a
California cOrporation (formerly united CalifOrnia Bank).
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, on June 5, 1972, the CITY and United California Bank,
entered into a Lease Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Lease"), cover-
ing certain real propertY'owned by the CITY (hereinafter referred to as "the
CITY's Parcel"), the legal description of which is set forth in Exhibit "A",
~hich is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the Lease also covers certain real property owned by UNITED
CALIFORNIA BANK REALTY CORPORATION ("UCBRC") (hereinafter referred to as "UCBRC's
Parcel"), td~e legal description of which is set forth in Exhibit "B", which is
attached heretD and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, United California. Bank changed its name to FIRST INTERSTATE
BANK OF CALIFORNIA on June 1, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the CITY is the present Lessor and the BANK· is the present
Lessee of the CITY's Parcel; and

WHEREAS, the BANK is the. presen.t~Lessor and the CITY is the present
Lessee of UCBRC' s Parcel; and
WHEREAS, the CITY and BANK wish to extend the tem~ of the Lease to
September 30, 1984 or the date of close of escrow for the conveyance of fee
title of their respective real properties each to the other, whichever date
occurs later.

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual benefits to accrue to
the parties hereto, it is hereby agreed as follows:

1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein and made a part
hereof.

2. Tae term of the Lease shall 'be· and is hereby extended to September
30, 1984, or the date of close of escrow for the conveyance of
fee title of the CITY's Parcel to UCBRC and the conveyance of fee
title of UCBRC' s Parcel to the CITY, whichever date occurs later,
but in no event, later than December 31, 1984, free of rent or
other charges applicable to such extension.
Except as hereinabove expressly provided, the Lease is not hereby
amerced or modified in any respect whatsoever, and the Lease shall remain in
full force and effect and said Lease as herein amended is hereby approved,
ratified and confirmed.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this instrument
to be exeCuted as of the day and year first above written.

"South San Francisco, San Mateo County, ~California, plat no.
1", which map wss filed in the office of the recorder of t~e
County of San Mateo, State of California, on March 1, 1892,
in Liber "B" of maps at Page 6 and a copy entered in Liber 2
of maps at Page 52.
