CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING
ALAN MEYER
WHEREAS~ Alan Meyer was first employed as a ?irefighter on October 19, ~?$
and retired August B, ~84 after ten years and ten months of service with the
Fire Department of the City of South San Franclsco~ and
WHEREAS, Alan received his Associate Degree in Fire Science after attending
City College of San Francisco~ and
WHEREAS, after extensive Paramedic Training at Stanford University~ Alan
was promoted to Paramedic on January $~ lB?5, serving as one of the original
ten Paramedic/Firefighters for the South San Francisco Fire Department~ and
WHEREAS, On January 2, ~ he was promoted to the rank of Captain~ and
WHEREAS, he has membership in the International Association of Firefighters,
Local ~$07, and in the South San Francisco Fire Department Widows and Orphans
Association, and
WHEREAS, Alan Meyer has helped protect the City of South San Francisco for
almost eleven years, and his dedication to justice, fairness and high morals
are in the highest tradition of the Fire Department~
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it does hereby express appreciation to Alan Meyer for his dedi-
cated services to the City of South San Francisco and does order this Resolution
incorporated in the official records of the City as this Councilts expression
and it8 wishes for his long and happy retirement.
