A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR PRO-
FESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR
GATEWAY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT ST-82-2
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that:
1. Approval of Agreement.
The Agreement entitled "Second Amendment to Agreement for Professional
Engineering Services for The Gateway Assessment District" between the City of
South San Francisco and Wilsey & Ham is hereby authorized, and a copy of said
Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit "1."
2. Execution of Agreement.
The Mayor is authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City,
and the City Clerk attest his signature thereto.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regul.ar
meeting held on the lOth - day of .October , 1984, by the following

SECOND AMENDMENT
TO
AGREEMENT
FOR
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
FOR
THE GATEWAY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
The Second Amendment to Agreement is made this 10th day of
October , 198/t by and between CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
hereinafter called the CITY and WILSEY & HAM, a California Corporation consisting of
engineers, surveyors and technicians, hereinafter called the CONSULTANT.
Whereas, the CITY and the CONSULTANT desire to amend that certain Agreement for
Professional Engineering Services for the Gateway Assessment District, dated July 21~
1982, hereinafter referred to as the Basic Agreement, as amended by the First
Amendment to the Agreement, dated March Iq, 198zt, hereinafter referred to as the
First Amendment.
Now, Therefore, This Second Amendment to Agreement Witnesseth: That for and in
consideration of the mutual covenants and promises between the parties hereto, it is
here,by agreed as follows:
SECTION I. AMENDED SCOPE OF SERVICES -
The services which the CONSULTANT agrees to perform as described in Exhibit A
"Scope of Services" to the Basic Agreement are hereby amended as follows:
I. Phase 2: For Phase !! construction, provide all applicable.and necessary Assessment
District Administration services specified under this phase of the Basic Agreement.
2. Add the following to Exhibit A, "Scope of Services":
Phase 6: For Phase !! construction, provide Final Design, and Design Survey
Services for Gateway Boulevard Extension and for Improvement of existing PG&E
Storm Drainage Ditches, described as follows:
(I)
The proposed extension of Gateway Boulevard between East Grand Avenue and
South Airport Boulevard and the improvement thereof by clearing~ grubbing~
excavation, grading, removal of existing structures and miscellaneous facilities;
and the construction of base, pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways,
street trees, median islands, railroad crossing, surface and subsurface storm
drainage facilities; where required~ facilities for channeling, merging, striping
and reflective pavement marking, turning and controlling traffic and traffic

signalization facilities; where required, landscaping, i~cluding sprinkler and
irrigation systems, street signs, street monuments, and street lighting facilities,
and bus shelters, all in accordance with requirements of the City of South San
Francisco.

Improvement of existing PG&E storm drainage ditches by replacement with
subsurface storm drain raain with appurtenant drainage structures southwest
· from existing facilities at East Grand Ave. to a terminus at Sylvester Street
facilities adjacent to Southern Pacific Railroad tracks.
Included fOr the above described improvements shall be the preparation of plans,
specifications, engineer's estimate an'd bid documents and provision of all other
applicable services specified under Phases 3B of Exhibit A of the Basic Agreement, with
the exception that landscape architectural services specified under Paragraph 3B(8) will
be provided by-Wilsey & Ham, and soils engineering services will be by others under
contract to the City.
Included as '~pec.ified under Phase 3B of the Basic Agreement shall be attendance of
detailed conferences, the procurement of necessary field information~ the furnishing of
engineering data and special studies and coordination with all applicable, pri~ate and
public agencies as needed to assist in the acquisition of lands, permits and design
approvals and interfaces to allow construction. Agencies tO be considered include, but
are not limited to the following, the City, Homart Development Company, the'
Redevelopment Agency, Caltrans, PUC, Southern Pacific Transportation Company,
PG&E, Pacific Bell Company (formerly PT&T) and the California. Water Services
Company.
SECTION 2. AMENDED COMPENSATION
Section 6. Compensation under the Basic Agreement is hereby amended as follows:
As compensation for performance of all .the services described for PhaSe I through
Phase (~ of Exhibit A os amended by the First Amen~..,_nt and this .Second
Am. endment provided herein~ the CITY agrees to pay the CONSULTANT on o time
and materials basis up to o maximum limit os indicated below in accordance with
Exhibit B, CONSULTANT'S Standard Fee Schedule. The maximum compensation to
be paid CONSULTANT under this Second Amendment to Agreement is hereby
increased from $1,t~20,320 to $1,6~7,520 representing on increased compensation of
$227,200 to c~ccount for the additional services to be performed by CONSULTANT
os described above and in Exhibits D and E attached herelo and mode o port of this
Amendment to the Agreement. CITY and CONSULTAhlT agree that said attached
CONSULTA;'-tT'S Standard Fee Schedule shall be effective through June 30, 1985 and
may be amended annually thereafter. Such amendment shall ~e in writing and shall
be signed by the parties hereto.

Except as modified by this Second Amendment, the Basic Agreement with the First
Amendment is hereby ratified and confirmed. In witness whereof, the parties to these
presents have hereunto caused these presents to be executed in duplicate the day and
year first above mentioned;
