CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SALARY STRUCTURE
FOR THE UNIT #7 NON-SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT
EMPLOYEES BY AMENDING THE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AND UNIT #7 FOR THE PERIOD
SEPTEMBER 1, 1983 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1984
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Unit #7
Non-Sworn Police Department Employees for the period September l, 1983
through December 31, 1984, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by this reference as if set forth verbatim, is hereby
accepted and approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized
to endorse on Page 1 of the signature page of said Memorandum of Understand-
ing the following:
"Approved by City Council Resolution No. 195-84
Adopted Nov. 28 1984"
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced

AGREEMENT TO AMEND NON-SWORN POLICE REPRESENTATION
UNIT #7 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE SOUTH SAN FRAN-.
CISCO POLICE ASSOCIATION FOR THE PERIOD September 1,
1983 THROUGH December 31, 1984
The City and Unit #/ hereby agree to the Amendments as expressly stated herein
and except as herein modified, all other provisions, terms and conditions of
the Memorandum of Understanding shall remain in effect.
APPENDIX A of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of South San
Francisco and the South San Francisco Police Association applicable to
employees in classifications included in Non-Sworn Police representation.
Unit #7 for the period September 1, 1983 through December 31, 1984 shall
be null and void effective June 29, 1984.

STEP PLAN TIME IN STEP: Each employee shall complete the amount of time prescribed for each step' of the step
plan applicable to his or her classification prior to advancing to the next step.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE:
An employee who has successfully completed the probationary period for.~his or her
classification and who has:
An Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution of learning
or
Completed sixty (60) accredited units in education related to the field
of Administration of Justice
shall be compensated at the rate prescribed for the next higher step in the step plan
applicable to the employee's classification than that step in the plan for which the'
employee otherwise qualifies. In no event,.however, shall such an employee be compen-
sated at any rate which is greater than the rate prescribed for the final step of his
or- her classification.
