.CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE
WORK AND CALLING-BIDS FOR
PARADISE VALLEY LIGHTING PROJECT -
PHASE I
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South' San FranCisco~ that:

WHEREAS', plans and specifications providing for certain improvement work have
been sumitted, which plans and specifications are entitled:
IpARADISE VALLEY LIGHTING PROJECT I - PROJECT NO- PR-84-4
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve said plans and specifications'j
authorize the work and call for sealed proposals;

NOW,.THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that:
lJ The plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified are
hereby approved and the work therein provided is hereby authorized'~ and said
plans and specifications_are referred to and bY this reference made a part
hereof the same as if recited herein verbatim.
2L The Purchasing Off.icer of said City is hereby directed to publish a
notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said work in accordance with the
plans and specifications hereinbefore named and identified and on file in the
office of the .Pumcha~ing_Officer~ Notice shall be published at least'twice no~
less than five {5)'days apart in the Enterpri'se-Journal~ a newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of ~outh San Francisco: The first
publication of the notice shall be at least ten {10) days before the date of
opening of the bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied b~ a cashier's or certified
check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco in an amount equal
to not--less than-~._t.en~-percent~_(lO%) of the bid figurej or by a bond in said amount
drawn in-favor~of~-said~-City-and-executed by a corporate surety~ Said check shall
be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City in case
the lowest responsible bidder {or bidders) depositing the same does not~ within
the time set forth in said plans and specifications, enter into a contract with
said City, the faithful performance of which shall be guaranteed by lan under-
taking in the amount of one hundred percent {100%) of the sum bidj said under-
taking being that of a corporate surety satisfactory to said City Council' and
which contract shall be accompanied by a labor and materials bond of a corporate

surety,-also in a sum equal to one hundred percent (I00%) of the amount of said
bid for any bid in an amount not exceeding $25,000; and in a sum as required
by Civil'Code Section 324~ for-any bid-in excess, of $2§~000~ In-case of-a for-
feiture~ .as provided for in the~preceding-sentenCe~ the defaulting bidder'shall
be liable to said City for any additional expense to which it may reasonably be
put in connection-wi.th' obtaining full and complete performance of the particular
work of improvement with which this Notice to Bidders is concerned~

at or before the hour of 2'00 P.M.

The bids will be publicly opened'~ examined and declared at said time in the
