Whereas, we as a City Co~mcil believe tn~.t the time is at han~ i'or Santh San Fran- ci~'co to own its own water front, that we may better be enabled to me~_~t the rapid develope:~ent in our manufacturing and industraii activities, and ther ~by as[:~'e to not only our presei~t plant but tho~e that are abo~t to ent~r our ~'ie/d that a l'ull and c~mplete a~d co,.prenen~ive ~lan of developr~ent oi' our water ~'ront a~-~d water way~' can be carried out to the ~re~t benefit oi' out Cit ~:nd our State, a~d " Whereas, this po]icy has been recognized in the past by our Honorable State Legis- lsture in the cases el' Alameda, Oakland and Los Angeles, and in asking this we do not believe that we are asking any more than :ur sister cities have b~,en ~riven, and to which we belived we are justly entitled~ · l~ow therei'ore be it re~o!ved by the Board off [~'ustees of the ~ity el' South San Fran- cisco that we go on record as strongly urging the State oi~ ~ali£ornia to grant to us the right to own our own w~ter £ront, so that we can carry out our plan el' developement both o£ the harb~ and water wsys; And be it i'urthor resolved that we mail to our State Senator and State A.~sembl~ man a copy o£ this resolution wi h a request from all us that you do everything within your er~'ul to see that these bills nut~bered 107 Senate and ll4 Assembly, be passe~ in the respectiw houses o£ the State Legisl~_tu~'e and that our Honorable Governor approve sar.~e.
