PROCEEDINGS ~ ~? ~
RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco thHt public interest and
convenience require the work herein described ~nd said Board of Trustees of the City of South San
Francisco hereby or~srs ~he following work to be done in said City, to-wit
-1- The construction ~nd completion of vitrified salt-glazed ironstone pipe sewer in
Industrial Way ex tending from Butler Road ~ZOB feet southerly
-2- The construction and completion of vitrified s~lt-~glazed ironstone pipe sewer on
the Mission Road in ~ront of the propertty known as" Town of Baden "west of Railroad. ·
All work hereby provided £6r sh~ll be done in accordance with the plans and specifications for
said work which plans snd specifications were ~dopt~ on the 18th day of January, 1926 snd sre now
on file in the office of the City Clerk to which plcns ~nd specifications reference is hereby made
for a description of s~id work,
The City Clerk hereby directed to publish for two (~$ weeks in the"South Ssn Francisco Journa!
a newspaper of general circulation printed ~nd published in said City of South S~n Francisco, the fei
lowing notice inviting seHled proposals or bids for the construction of s~id system of severs .
Notice Inviting sealed proposals for the construction
of sewers in the City of South San Francisco.
~ealed proposals will be received by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Fra
ncisco ~til ?:ZO o'clock P.M. on Monday, the 1st day of ~ebru~ry, 1926 for the following work
in s~id City of South San Francisco, Count~yof San Mateo, S~te of California
The constructinn of ~ system of sewers in that portion of the City of South San Francis
co particularly described as follows, to-Wit
-1- The Construction and Completion of vitrified salt-glazed ironstone pipe sewers
in Industrial Way extending from Butler Road l~O~ feet southerly.
-£- The construction and completion of vitrified salt-glazed ironstone pipe sewsr
on the Mission Road in front of the property known as the" Town of Baden "west of R&ilroad.
All m~terials and all work must be in strict compliance with the plans ~nd specifications
~dopted by the Board of Trustees on the 18th day of J~nuary, 1926 and now on file in the office
of the City Clerk. ~he successful bidder shall within five (8) days after the award,enter into
a contract performance of the work to be done under said award.
All propossls must be accompanied with ~ certified check upon a solvent bank of the Sta~l
te of California, payable to the City of South San Francisco in an amount not less than ten (10)
per cent of the aggregste of the bid upon the condition that if the proposal be accepted ~nd the
contract ~arded ~nd if the bidder sh~ll f~il ~nd neglect to execute the contract ~nd give the
bonds requir~A, the sum ~entioned in said check sh~ll be liquid,ted d~mages for such f~ilure ~nd
neglect, ~nd shall be forfeited ~nd p~id into the Treasury of the City of South San Francisco.
The bidder to whomthe contract is awarded, will'be required to execute ~ bond for the
faithful perforn~ance of his wor~ in an amoLLmt equal to twenty-five (2~) per cent of the amount
of his undertaking with at least two 12) responsible sureties in the full ~mount of the bid each;
and will h&so be re~uired,before entering upon the work, to furnish a good and sufficient bond ss re
quired by an ~ct of the Legislature of the State of'California approved May lO,1919,entitled,
"An Act to secure the payment of the claims of the persons~mployed by contractors upon public works,
~nd the claims of persons who furnish Materials, Supplies, teams implements or machinery used or con
sumed by such contractors in the performance of such work~, snd prescribing the duties of certain Pub~
lic officers with reference thereto~"and will also be required to e~hibit to s~id Board of Trustees a
policy of insurance showing that s~id bidder is insured against loss throUgh accident or negligence
in such a way ~s to s~tisfactor~y ~rotect s~id City of South San Francisco under the provisions of th,
"Workmens Compensation, Insursnce smd Saf~y Act of the S~$e of California."
The contract must be entered into in compliance with ~nd subject to the Conditions imposed by
section 6~Zc of~the Penal Code of the State of C~lifornia.
'Sealed proposals or bids will be delivered to the City Clerk on or before ?:~0 o'clock P.M.
of Monday, ~ebruary 1,1926. All sealed proposals or bids will be opened by said Board of Trustees in
public session on Momday, Febru~ry 1,19S6, at ?:ZO o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber of s~id Board
The Board of Trustees hereby reserved the right to reject any ~nd sll bids or .proposals.
